Bristol Rugby Community Foundation

Bristol Rugby Community Foundation

Bristol Rugby Community Foundation has designed and delivered the highest quality Community Programming over the past six years using the sport of rugby union as a vehicle for engagement and education.

The Foundation actively promotes community participation in healthy recreation and physical activity and assists in the advancement of amateur sport. The charity also helps to provide facilities for sport, recreation, physical activity and other leisure time activity for those young people who need it most.

The real passion and focus of the Foundation is education and primarily how the values and ethics of rugby union can be used to engage and effectively educate some of the most disaffected young people in our communities today. Bristol Rugby Community Foundation has been recognised for its innovative and effective approach by winning nine Parliamentary Awards since May 2008.

Since its inception in 2011, Break The Cycle has formed the central part of BRCF's fundraising strategy. In 2011, Break The Cycle literally secured the immediate future of our newly formed charity.

If you would like more information on Bristol Rugby Community Foundation, or any of its programmes, please check out the Community Section of the Bristol Rugby website at www.bristolrugbycf.co.uk.

Bath Rugby Foundation

Bath Rugby Foundation

Bath Rugby Foundation is the charitable arm of Bath Rugby Club set up to empower young people in Bath and surrounding areas to succeed. We use the values of rugby to inspire young people to create a better future for themselves. Our focus is on improving Health, Education, Employability and Inclusion in the South West.

Bath is a city famed for its Roman baths, impressive Georgian architecture, Jane Austen - and of course its rugby club. But behind the Georgian façade lies a different story. 20% of children in Bath are living in poverty.

And that's why Bath Rugby Foundation has created a host of programmes that ensure every young person, no matter their background, is given the tools they need to succeed – to create a better future for themselves.

Our programmes are geared towards addressing four key areas of need in B&NES: Health, Education, Employability and Inclusion. Each programme is tailored to use sport to build confidence, and empower participants to live successful, happy and healthy lives.

One of the many qualities that unite the Club and the Foundation is ambition. The Club's ambition is to create a successful team, to play brilliant rugby, and to bring silverware home to The Rec. The Foundation is equally focussed on its ambition to deliver a positive impact in the community.

If you'd like to find out more about how Bath Rugby Foundation can assist in your community, or if you'd like to donate your money or your time to us, please email foundation@bathrugby.com

Bristol Flyers Basketball

Bristol Flyers Community Foundation

The Bristol Flyers Community Foundation offers young people across the City of Bristol the opportunity to learn, achieve, grow and have fun through Basketball. We endeavour to improve lives using the vehicle of Basketball to get members of our communities active whilst learning about making healthy lifestyle choices.

Basketball is a game for everyone, it can be adapted in a multitude of ways to make it accessible to all. The value we place on sport is not simply limited to the physical benefits, but also the promotion of ideals including respect, fair play, integrity, teamwork and inclusion. All our community programmes are delivered by the inspirational professional Bristol Flyers players and highly qualified community coaches which are able to inspire and educate participants about every aspect of Basketball.

The Bristol Flyers Health Squad is a lifestyle programme which we take in to primary schools to educate pupils about their bodies and how to make positive lifelong decision which will help to keep them healthy and ultimately improve their quality of life. We believe that this programme has the potential to change family lives through empowering children with the knowledge to make positive and realistic lifestyle decisions within the family unit. This programme is delivered both in the classroom and on the basketball court with all theory components being reinforced through the practical sessions delivered by the professional players.

In addition to our school based programmes, we also provide recreational opportunities across the city for youngster to come along and play basketball at one of our open sessions or hubs which offer structured basketball coaching for all ages and abilities.
