Help us 'Break The Cycle'

Break The Cycle is a fantastic day out and a great challenge for you and your team, but it is also important to remember that the primary aim of Break The Cycle is to raise vital funds for five local charities. Therefore, the 'winner' is not the one that crosses the finish line first, but the one that raises the most. This money provides vital funding to help disadvantaged young people in our local communities to 'Break The Cycle' and realise their potential.

Funds raised from Break The Cycle 2017 will go towards new projects and underfunded programmes. These include the Spectrum Project which works with children and young adults across Bristol with special educational needs and the Eagle Girls Rugby programme that supports the early growth and development of the Girls Junior game in Greater Bristol.

Fundraising entries

Entry into Break The Cycle is £30 per person with a £250 fundraising target per rider. Fundraising entrants get pre-event training rides and guides, free car parking at Ashton Gate Stadium for training rides and on the day of the event, pre-event technical bike support, access to water/feed stations at each rugby club and en-route, goody bag, certificate of achievement, shower and changing facilities.

In addition: Fundraising entries also get the opportunity to have sport therapy before, during and after the event and access to free photos of you and your team mates throughout the event from a professional photographer. All fundraisers who reach and exceed the £250 fundraising target will receive two complimentary tickets to a regular season game of your choice in the 2017/18 season. As you can see, becoming a fundraiser will make a good day even better and all in the great cause of helping young people in Bristol and Bath.

Helping you to reach your goals: Every rider that enters as a fundraiser will get support and ideas from dedicated Break The Cycle staff and our friends at Virgin Money Giving who manage all of our online fundraising. We will also be holding a number of networking events in the months before Break The Cycle where you'll get to find out more about the work of the nominated charities, meet some of the young people who have been helped with the money raised from previous events and we'll furnish you with lots of fundraising tips and ideas. When you're given some great ideas you'll be surprised how easy it is to raise the money. In addition, these events will also be a really good opportunity for you to get together with your team mates, meet your fellow riders, receive training advice and find out more about what to expect on the day.

Fundraising Milestones: There will also be fundraising milestones along the way where those who have raised the most at that point in time will win one of many fantastic prizes including the opportunity to ride in a velodrome, Bristol Rugby memorabilia and match day tickets.
